FAQ: Photography Sessions & Appointments

1. Pricing & Donations

How much does a photography session cost?

Photography sessions operate on a donation basis. While there is no fixed hourly rental fee, professional photographers with paying clients typically donate $30–$50 per session or 10%–20% of their session fee.

How do I submit my donation?

Donations can be submitted via Venmo (@chackofarms), CashApp ($ChackoFarms). If you prefer to bring cash, you are welcome to leave it in the wishing well donation box near the flower garden during upick season.

2. Booking & Availability

Do I need to schedule an appointment in advance?

Yes. An advance appointment is required for all photography visits so we know who is on the property.

How do I reserve a time slot?

You can reserve your preferred day and time online at chackofarms.as.me.

When does online booking open for the flower season?

Online booking for the main bloom season (August through fall) typically opens in early-to-mid July. For off-season requests or early planning, you can contact us directly by email with your preferred dates, times, and phone number.

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

There is no cancellation or rescheduling fee. If weather or client conflicts arise, appointments can easily be switched or rescheduled online or by email.

3. Seasonality & Farm Features

When are the flowers in bloom?

Our main bloom season for the flower field runs from August 1st through the first frost (typically mid-to-late autumn).

Can I book a session before the flowers bloom (Spring / Early Summer)?

Yes! While flower fields take time to bloom, the farm grounds—including our back ponds and willow trees—are available for booking from spring through fall.

What photo spots are available on the farm?

The property offers several distinct backdrops:

Flower fields (Bloom season: August 1st through first frost)

Back ponds surrounded by willow trees

Open fields, trails, and green spaces

4. Amenities & Visitor Information

Are restrooms or changing facilities available on-site?

  • Changing Facilities: We do not have indoor changing rooms or dedicated changing facilities on the farm. We strongly recommend bringing your own pop-up changing tent or planning to change in your vehicle.

  • Restrooms: A porta-potty is located near the front barn during U-pick season only (August 1st through fall). There are no public restrooms available outside of the U-pick season.

Are there covered areas in case of rain?

No. The farm does not have covered or indoor shelter in case of rain. If inclement weather is forecasted, please use your booking email or reach out to reschedule your session.

Where should I park when arriving?

A detailed map of the property is included in your booking confirmation email.
